Give yourself a digital reset this weekend.
As we move through November and tiptoe toward Black Friday + the holiday season, the inbox noise starts to rise. I don’t know about you, but a flood of notifications — bells, pings, banners — can immediately make my anxiety spike. It’s like my nervous system braces itself every time my phone lights up.
That’s why my notifications stay off.
No constant buzzing. No little red circles begging for attention. Only appointments + essential reminders get through.
Everything else? Silent.
It forces me to be intentional when I pick up my phone — not reactive.
This morning I did something I do every year around this time:
I opened my email and started unsubscribing from anything I don’t actually read. Maybe I grabbed a freebie months ago… maybe I bought something once… maybe I had good intentions. But if I’m not planning to engage with it anytime soon, it’s gone.
Because here’s the truth:
Black Friday is about to make everyone email once… sometimes twice a day.
So if you’re getting notifications from…
✨ Every retailer you’ve ever shopped at
✨ Small businesses you forgot you signed up with
✨ Random freebies you grabbed in a moment of excitement…it becomes overwhelming fast.
I’m choosing to keep my digital space calm on purpose. I’ve even removed my social media apps (they’ve been off for a while).
The only things on my phone right now are Telegram for our free community and coaching clients. Lemon8 because it’s calming, and Pinterest for inspiration. That’s it. A quiet, intentional space where I can create and think clearly.
So here’s my gentle challenge for you this weekend:
Give Yourself a Digital Rest
Go through your phone and remove distracting apps Use social media on desktop only Unsubscribe from any emails that aren’t adding value Delete digital clutter that pulls on your attention.
Clear the noise before the season gets loud.
And don’t worry — I’m doing a whole series on staying intentional with Black Friday so you don’t overspend, stress buy, or feel overwhelmed.
But for now?…
Start by protecting your peace.
Start by quieting your digital world.
