Slow Living: The Winter Season

How to Create a Calm Winter Morning

Winter Self-Care Tips

7 Calm Winter Activities

Winter wellness is all about slowing down, nurturing your body, and creating small routines that help you feel grounded. Even if you only catch one blog post today, you can always catch up on the others later—think of it as little reminders to take care of yourself this season.

Nutrition Challenge

This week’s challenge: Plan 12 healthy winter recipes you’d like to try. Think soups, chilies, roasts, and root vegetables—comforting and nourishing foods that feel like winter in every bite. Use your favorite planning tool—Trello, Google Keep, X-Tiles—to create your list, then challenge yourself to try one new recipe per week. If you love it, add it to your regular rotation!

Slow Living in Winter

Winter gives us permission to slow down. The season itself encourages reflection, calm, and rest. Slowing down isn’t laziness—it’s living in rhythm with nature. Take this time to be present, embrace hibernation, and notice small joys like cozy blankets, warm drinks, or quiet mornings. Aligning with the season is one of the simplest ways to reduce stress.

Plan the Night Before

Here’s my personal productivity hack: I plan the night before. I check my calendar for appointments, review what I didn’t accomplish today, and move anything that can wait to another day. Then I set my top three priorities for tomorrow.

My tool of choice? X-Tiles – it’s like a cleaner, more aesthetically pleasing version of Notion. You get daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly views all in one place. Everything else is a “nice-to-do,” not an emergency. And if it doesn’t get done? Slide it to another day—no stress. Learn more about Xtiles here.

Cozy Corner Challenge

This week, create a cozy corner in your home. Think Hygge (H-Y-G-E-E)—soft lighting, blankets, a favorite mug, maybe a candle or plant. Small touches like these boost comfort, calm, and overall wellness.

Challenge: Snap a photo of your cozy corner and share it with me. Let’s inspire each other to make our spaces inviting and restful this winter. Click here to share.

Journaling Prompt – Future Self Focus

Where would you like to see yourself this time next year? Not just in what you own or accomplish, but who you’ve become. Write with detail: what habits you’ve built, how you feel in your body, how you show up for yourself and others. Imagine your future self fully alive, grounded, and thriving.

Bible Scripture for the Week

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” – Jeremiah 29:11
